Join SLA-SG, SALS and ALA-SC for a Resume and Coverletter Workshop! We will be meeting in Room LI030. The presentation portion of the workshop should go for about 45 minutes to an hour, with some time to follow for group review/individual questions.

We will be heading to St. Louis to meet with a librarian at WashU’s Art and Architecture Library. SALS will also be visiting the St. Louis Art museum, Laumeier Sculpture Park and Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum!
SALS x Professional Development Day
Two of our members will be presenting on topics such as business cards, starting and/or maintaining your online presence and networking. We will be meeting at 3:00 pm in the large computer lab classroom (Room 002). After presentations, stick around so y’all can work on your LinkedIn profiles or blogs or business cards. Let’s bring all our skills together and collaborate on professional development.
SALS will be virtually watching the DERAIL (Diversity, Equity, Race, Accessibility, and Identity in LIS) forum is a student-led event initiated to address the need for critical discussions of the intersections between social justice issues and our roles as students and information professionals. DERAIL will be held on March 26, 2016, beginning at 10:00 AM (EST) at Simmons College in Boston, MA.
ARLIS/NA + VRA Annual Conference

A few members of SALS will be attending the Art Libraries Society of North America and Visual Resources Association 2016 joint conference in Seattle, WA.
Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon!
As part of the Art+Feminism campaign to improve coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia, the Indiana University Bloomington Libraries are hosting an edit-a-thon meetup. The event will focus on expanding or improving Wikipedia entries for notable women artists, including women artists from the state of Indiana. Activities will also include new editor orientation and training.
Zine + Button Sale!
SALS will be selling zines, buttons and baked goods at the I FELL Gallery next to Rainbow Bakery from 5-8pm!
Amos Kennedy Closing Reception
Please join us on Friday, February 26 from 5-6:30 pm at the Fine Arts Library exhibit area for a closing reception for, Prints and Artists’ Books from Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr., Printmaker: A Selection from the Fine Arts Library. Exhibit curator, Vaughan Hennen, will speak briefly about the life and work of Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr. Members of the Black Graduate Student Association will also share remarks.
SALS members took a behind the scenes look at Indiana University’s Art Museum. They spoke with the Registrar and viewed special items that are a part of the museum’s paper collection.
SALS traveled to Indianapolis for the day. They met up with Alba Fernandez-Keys, the head of libraries & archives at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. SALS members also toured the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.

On September 1st SALS hosted its first event – an open meeting in the ILS Computer Lab lounge. We had snacks and chatted with students interested in art librarianship and other related subjects.
